Harlan Shield Collins, Sr. was born June 28, 1930 in Finger, Tennessee the son of the late Frank and Minnie Bell Floyd Collins.Mr. Collins and his son owned and operated Outback Tire Shop. Prior to opening the tire shop he farmed and worked at a service station. He was a member of Thomas Chapel Church in Guys, Tennessee.Mr. Collins departed this life on January 22, 2011 in Selmer, Tennessee at the age of 80 Years, 6 Months, 25 Days.He is survived by a daughter, Virginia Ann Doyle and husband Robert of Adamsville, TN; a son, Harlan Shield Collins, Jr. and fiance Destiny Nicholson of Selmer, TN; his ex-wife, Jewel Wilson of Crump, TN; 13 Grandchildren; two nieces, Janice McDaniel, Frances Elliott; a nephew, Tommy Poe. A host of extended family and friends.In addition to his parents, Mr. Collins was preceded in death by two sons, James Harlan Collins, Melvin Elvis Collins; a sister, Loretta Sue Poe; his stepfather, Pink Cone, who raised him; a nephew, James Lawley, and a great-grandchild. His grandparents were the late Pink and Sarah Louisa Floyd.
