Jackson, TN: Harold Renard Mayfield, age 63, passed away August 31, 2010 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.
He was born and reared in Chester County, the son of Martha Sue “Jean†Fowler Mayfield and the late Homer Renard Mayfield. He graduated from Chester County High School in 1967 and attended two years at Jackson State Community College and also attended Moler Barber College in Memphis and was a master barber and hair stylist. His hobbies were fishing and hunting. He was a master carver having won many ribbons in the local fairs and some of his work was featured in national magazines.
He loved his church family and he loved to sing and had sung in many of the local nursing homes as well as the Bar-B-Que Festival in Henderson.
He was Mr. Downtown Jackson in 2004. He was also an avid fund raiser.
He married his childhood sweetheart Virginia Ann Joyner on December 3, 1967. They made their home in Jackson since 1974.
He is survived by his wife; Virginia Ann Joyner Mayfield of Jackson; his mother, Jean Mayfield of Henderson; and a brother, Rayford Mayfield and wife Carolyn of Henderson.
