HAROLD JOE WILSON
Henderson, TN: Harold Joe Wilson, age 66 passed away Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at his home.
He was born August 27, 1947 in McNairy County and grew up in McNairy County, Kentucky and Illinois the son of the late Andrew Joycie Wilson and Frances Lydia Frye Wilson Nelson. He married Brenda Chandler in 1968 and they made their home in the Finger area. He worked for Brown Shoe Company, Castel Metal in Illinois, and also worked as a mechanic at Guinn Brothers and for J.R. Hames. He owned and operated Wilson Grocery at Finger.
He was a member of the Refuge Church of Christ where he was song leader and had served as an elder.
He enjoyed scrap iron collecting, watching black and white westerns and singing gospel songs.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda Chandler Wilson of Henderson, two sons, Randy Joe Wilson of Bethel Springs and Richard Allen Wilson of Henderson and three daughters, Brenda Renee Dicus of Chiefland, FL, Rhonda Jo Perrigo of Pinson and Rita Denise Wilson of Henderson, 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his step-father Ray Nelson of Pinson and several uncles and aunts and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Regina Ann Wilson in 1973 and a brother, Monroe Wilson.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Saturday at Shackelford Funeral Directors - Casey Chapel with Paul Whitehead and John Weakley officiating and burial will follow at Finger Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Casey Chapel beginning 5:00 PM Friday.
