Harold Paul Wright Sr. of Iron City, TN was born February 6, 1925 in Cloverdale, AL, the son of the late J. Eddie and Alpha Lucinda Darby Wright. He was united in marriage to Mildred Wells on June 6, 1969.
Mr. Wright was a retired dental technician and was a United States Army veteran of WW II where he received two battle stars. Prior to moving back to Wayne County, TN, he had lived in Vandercook Lake, MI, Toledo, OH, and Huntsville, AL.
Mr. Wright departed this life on Monday, October 14, 2013 at Wayne Care Nursing Home in Waynesboro, Tennessee at the age of 88 Years, 8 Months, 8 Days.
He is survived by his wife, Mildred Wells Wright of Iron City, TN; sons, Harold Paul Wright Jr. and wife, Janice of Anderson, SC; stepson, Billy Joe Brewer and wife, Lynn of Asheboro, NC; a step-daughter, Linda Allred and husband, Odell of Asheboro, NC; grandchildren, Edie Hardin and husband, Todd, Paula Faie Allen and husband, Jason, Paul Everett Wright and wife, Mandy, and Dr. Tiffany Kay and husband, Kevin; step-grandchildren, Mitchell and Michael Allred and Kristin Brewer; great-grandchildren, Myron and Georgeanne Hardin, Justin and Jessica Allen, Bailee and Jada Kay, and Annette and Avery Wright; step-great-grandchildren, Jacob, Amber Lynn, and Misty Allred; a brother, Randall (Lando) Wright of Brighton, MI; a sister, Grace Carver of Harbert Hills Nursing Home, Olive Hill, TN; nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Wright was preceded in death by two sisters, Lavern Nichols and Hazel Harris.
Services will be Saturday, October 19, 2013 at 1:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors Chapel, Collinwood, Tennessee, with Jimmy Martin officiating. Burial with military rites will follow in the McGlamery Cemetery, Collinwood, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County, directing. Pallbearers will be Bobby Young, Mitchell Allred, Paul Everett Wright, Todd Hardin, Jason Allen, David Berry and Hayden Berry.
Visitation will be Friday, October 18, 2013 from 6 to 8 pm and Saturday, October 19, 2013 from 11 am to service time at the funeral home.
