Harvel Leon Moore

Harvel Leon Moore of Lawrenceburg, TN was born February 16, 1931 in Waynesboro, Tennessee, the son of the late William Cranston and Virginia Wayne Duren Moore. He was united in marriage to Nettie Ruth Burks on July 31, 1949 and she preceded him in death on May 15, 2009.
Mr. Moore was a Grinding Machine Specialist and former owner of Moore Business Service. He was a member of the Southside Baptist Church in Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee.
Mr. Moore departed this life on Thursday, October 14, 2010 at Alive Hospice at Saint Thomas Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee at the age of 79 Years, 7 Months, 28 Days.
He is survived by two daughters, Sheila Gallaher of Clifton, TN and Maria DeVogel of Lady Lake, FL; a son, Sammie T. Moore of Waynesboro, TN; 7 Grandchildren; 6 Great Grandchildren; two brothers, Charles Glendon Moore, of Jackson's Gap, AL and William Rex Moore of Waynesboro, TN; nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Moore was preceded in death by a grandchild, Shannon Moore; a brother, James Dexter Moore; and a sister, Linda Gayle Kelley.
Services will be held on Sunday, October 17, 2010 at 1:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors Chapel in Waynesboro, Tennessee, with Casey Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Memorial Gardens at Waynesboro, Tennessee with Shackleford Funeral Directors of Wayne County directing. Pallbearers will be Shane Moore, Josh Moore, Chad VanFleet, Dustin VanFleet, Mitchell VanFleet.
Visitation will be Saturday, October 16, 2010 from 5 pm to 9 pm and Sunday, October 17, 2010 from 11:30 am until service time at the funeral home.
