Harvel Lynn Staggs

Harvel Lynn Staggs of Waynesboro departed this life on Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at Wayne Medical Center in Waynesboro, Tennessee at the age of 72 Years, 9 Months, 18 Days. He was born March 5, 1943 in Waynesboro, TN the son of Myrtle Marie Morrow Staggs Harvey of Waynesboro, TN and the late James Walton Staggs. In addition to his father, Mr. Staggs was preceded in death by a brother, James Carroll Staggs.

Mr. Staggs was formerly employed at Angelica . He served his country in the
U.S. Army, National Guard, and the U.S. Navy. He enjoyed playing music and was of the Church of God faith.

Other than his mother, he is survived by his wife Peggy Ann Cummings Staggs, a daughter, Heather Lynn Staggs Haddock, a son, Damien Dee Staggs, all of Waynesboro, TN, grandchildren, Nicholas Oral Haddock, Alexis Staggs and Tristan Staggs, three brothers, William Harold (Bill) Staggs of Waynesboro, TN, Willard Lee Staggs of Collinwood, TN, Mark Anthony Staggs of Waynesboro, TN; four sisters, Mary Lauern Hickerson of Waynesboro, TN, Mildred Ann Murray and, Nancy Deniece Whitehead both of Hohenwald, TN, and Lisa Darlene Kern of Michigan .

Services will be held on Saturday, December 26, 2015 at 3:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Home Chapel in Waynesboro, Tennessee. Burial with military honors will follow in Shields Cemetery near Waynesboro with Shackelford Funeral Directors in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be Saturday from 10:30 AM until service time at the funeral home.
