Hassel Pickens

HASSEL PICKENSwas born in Hardin County, Tennessee on May 1, 1927 the son of the late Bid and Etta Mae Mitchell Pickens.On December 17, 1946 he was united in marriage to Gracie Jane Austin, who survives.Mr. Pickens retired from River House Lumber Company. He was a United States Army Veteran of World War II. Mr. Pickens was a member of Soul\'s Harvest Church of God. He enjoyed gardening, raising livestock and he loved his family, kids and grandkids. Mr. Pickens departed this life on March 17, 2012 in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 84 years, 10 months and 16 days.In addition to his wife, Gracie Jane Pickens of Savannah, Tennessee, he is survived by 2 sons, Wayne Pickens and Bobby Pickens, both of Savannah, Tennessee6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren2 brothers, Lige Pickens of Savannah, Tennessee and Melvin Pickens of Hammond, IndianaIn addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by 3 brothers, Ross, J. C. and Curtis Pickens.
