Hassell Junior Woods

Hassell Junior Woods of Waynesboro, TN was born June 30, 1940 in Waynesboro, TN, the son of the late Tom Hassell and Merdill Marie Casteel Woods. He married Bertha Nell Skelton and he died Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at his home at the age of 74 years, 6 months and 21 days.

Mr. Woods had worked at Murray Ohio Manufacturing in Lawrenceburg, TN.

Survivors include his wife, who died shortly after him the same day, Bertha Nell Woods; grandchildren, Kolonda Jones, Koria Johns, Kim Staggs and Keith Staggs, great-grandchildren, Kenisha Hester, Kenzie Brown, Mason Rhinehart, Dannye Rinehart, Branden Staggs and Barrett Andrew Keith Stagg, a great-great-grandchild, Khloe' Staggs; a brother, Tom Woods Jr. of Hohenwald, TN, sisters, Dorothy Ellen Boyd and Mary Ann Brown both of Waynesboro, TN, Linda Sue Conley of Columbia, TN and Rebecca Ann Garrison of Hohenwald, TN and nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Woods was preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda Gail McClain and sisters, Lucil Marie Thrasher and Virginia N. Pevahouse.

Services will be Sunday, January 24, 2016 at 1:30 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors chapel, Waynesboro, Tennessee, with John Rawdon officiating. Burial will follow in the Lewis County Memorial Gardens at Hohenwald, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County, directing.

Visitation will be Sunday, January 24, 2016 from 11:30 am until service time at the funeral home.
