Hazel Johnson Harris

Hazel Johnson Harris was born on April 2, 1937 in Lutts, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Ellis Edwin and Mary Elizabeth McGee Johnson.

Hazel grew up on a farm in Lutts and was the second oldest of 10 children. She was a 1955 graduate of Collinwood High School. She was of the Baptist faith and was strong in her faith. Hazel loved serving the Lord. She also enjoyed gardening, traveling, and spending time with her family.

Hazel Johnson Harris departed this life on June 9, 2026 in Dallas, Texas, at the age of 89 years, 2 months, and 7 days.

She is survived by her daughters, Felicia Duval and Karen Harris, both of Granbury, Texas and siblings, Faye Swinney of Granbury, Texas, Ralph Johnson of Athens, Alabama, Waydene Smith of Toney, Alabama, and Sharon Fishman of Memphis, Tennessee.

In addition to her parents, Hazel was preceded in death by her siblings, Ed Johnson, Perry Johnson, Glenn Johnson, Jerry Pennington, and Mavilene Goodman.
