Hazel Melson

Mrs. Hazel Melson departed this life, Thursday, January 12, 2017 at Maury Regional Hospital, Columbia, Tennessee at the age of 96 Years, 2 Months, 10 Days. She was born November 2, 1920 in Waynesboro, TN, the daughter of the late Orville T. and Lula Elizabeth Smith Repp. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Melson was preceded in death by sisters, Lois Butler, Clara Nell Johnson, Ruby Logan, Inez Brewer, and brother, Ivan (Buck) Repp.

She married Clyde Melson on October 5, 1946 and he preceded her in death.

Mrs. Melson, a retired factory worker, was a member of the Eastview Baptist Church in Waynesboro, Tennessee.

She is survived by nieces and nephews, Linda Butler, Waynesboro, TN, Martha Gobbell, Clifton, TN, Ronnie Butler, Nashville, TN, Kathy Townsend, Florence, AL, Betty Logan, Atlanta, GA, John Johnson, Atlanta, GA and Betty Repp Melson, Collinwood, TN; step-daughter, Wanda Melson Bevis, Florence, AL; a step-grandson; a step-granddaughter and a step-great-granddaughter.

Services will be Friday, January 13, 2017 at 3:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors chapel, Waynesboro, Tennessee with Laverne Griggs officiating. Burial will follow in McGlamery Cemetery , Collinwood, Tennessee, Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County, directing.

Visitation will be Friday, January 13, 2017 from 1:00-3:00 pm at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Autry Gobbell, Stephen Gobbell, Joey Butler, Kyle Brewer, Jamie Brewer and Ronnie Butler.
