Hazel Whitehead

Services for Hazel Daniel Whitehead, age 94, of Florence, AL will be Monday, February 5, 2007 at 1 pm at Shackelford Funeral Home Chapel in Waynesboro, TN with Dr. Kenneth Meredith and James Kayler officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens with Shackelford Funeral Directors of Wayne County in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be Sunday, February 4, 2007 from 5 pm to 7 pm at the funeral home. She died Saturday, February 3, 2007 at her residence.



Mrs. Whitehead, a native of Wayne County, TN, was a homemaker, an excellent seamstress, an office worker, and a homeroom mother while her children were in school. From age 55 until retirement at age 65, she was employed with Angelica Corporation. She was a long-time, faithful member of Waynesboro United Methodist Church and had moved to Florence, AL in 1998.



Preceding her in death were her parents, William Isaac and Mary Elizabeth Martin Daniel, husband, Stennitt B. Whitehead, son, Jimmy Paul Whitehead, grandsons, Paul Kevin and Robert Kent Queen, brothers, Guy Martin Daniel, Clyde Merrill Daniel, Ralph Leroy Daniel, and Samuel Robert Daniel, sisters, Clura Wilkerson, Clarice Butler, Nannie E. Daniel, Willie Estelle Hughes, Osa Ola Gray, and Myrtis Garrison.



Survivors, daughter, Dorla Whitehead Queen and husband, Robert of Florence, grandchildren, Brady Queen Peden, Leisa Reed, James A. Whitehead, Jimmy Paul Whitehead, II, Julie Miller, and nine great-grandchildren.



Special thanks are given to her caregivers, Bobby and Charlotte Barrier and family for their loving care.



Memorial donations may be given to the Waynesboro United Methodist Church, St. Jude Children’s Hospital or senders charity choice.
