HELEN FRANKS CHERRY
was born in Hardin County, Tennessee on January 15, 1946 the daughter of the late John Hardin and Carrie Hazel Wilkerson Franks.
On January 21, 1970 she was united in marriage to Bobby Joe Cherry, who survives.
Helen was a retired seamstress. She worked for Garan Manufacturing and McNairy Shirt Works as well as other local factories. Helen was a faithful member of Temple Baptist Church, where she was very active in all church functions when she was able. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Helen departed this life on March 10, 2019 in Memphis, Tennessee at the age of 73 years, 1 month and 23 days.
In addition to her husband of 49 years, Bobby Joe of Savannah, Tennessee, she is survived by her children, Pamela Cherry Everett and her husband Corey of Brandon, Mississippi and Rebecca Cherry Avent and her husband David of Whiteville, Tennessee; daughter in law, Wanda Cherry of Savannah, Tennessee; five grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Lynn Cherry, one stepson, Paul Cherry and two sisters, Martha Morris and Mary Ann Bryant.
