Mrs. King passed away early Tuesday morning, March 22, 2011 at her home in Walnut, MS.
The widow of James W. King, who died February 12, 2002, she was a homemaker. Mrs. King was born January 12, 1934 in Hardeman County to the late Giles Hubert Matthews and Norma Belle Wilbanks Matthews and lived most all of her life in Tippah County, MS. She enjoyed gardening and planting flowers.
She is survived by a son and his wife, Donald Dowdy and Becky of Walnut, MS; a sister, Charlene Fuller of Alabama; a brother and his wife, William Earl Matthews and Ruth of Ashland, MS; three grandchildren and their spouses, Amy McKee and Barry, Christina Hopkins and Rickey and Cody Hodum and Ashley; and four great grandchildren, Lane and Lana McKee and Anthony and Rickey Hopkins. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Laura Belle Bright; and a brother, Hugh Matthews.
