Helen Shelby

Helen Alexander Shelby, of Cerro Gordo, was born on July 10, 1932, in Hardin County, the daughter of the late Edd and Addie Alexander.
On July 2, 1955, she was united in marriage to Guy Shelby, who preceded his wife in death on April 25, 2001.
Mrs. Shelby worked for Brown Shoe Company. She attended Grace Church Nashville, New Harmony Baptist Church, and Sheltering Tree Ranch.
Helen loved her family and the Lord. Her kind and compassionate ways served as a Godly example to all who knew her. Many lives were touched throughout her 40 years of teaching Sunday school. Helen loved spending time with her family. The mountains and the beach were two of her favorite places.
She departed this life on January 24, 2017, at the age of 84 years, 6 months, and 14 days.
Mrs. Shelby is survived by one daughter, Kim Foust and her husband Keith of Savannah; two grandsons and one granddaughter-in-love, Kai and Alexa Foust and Kasey Foust of Savannah; one sister, Ella Phillips; and one brother, Jim Alexander and his wife Jo Ann; many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one sister, Irene Polk and her husband E.J.; two brothers, Edwin Reese Alexander and his wife Juanita and F. Bruce Alexander and his wife Maxine; and brother-in-law, Rex Phillips.
