Helen Elizabeth Sawyer Staggs of Waynesboro, TN was born November 20, 1943 in Aransas Pass, TX, the daughter of the late Edward J. and Anna Bell Melina Sawyer. She was united in marriage to James Carroll Staggs on September 24, 1960 and he preceded her in death on April 26, 2005.
Mrs. Staggs was a retired nurse and departed this life on Saturday, November 26, 2016 at Maury Regional Medical Center in Columbia, Tennessee at the age of 73 Years, 6 Days.
She is survived by sons, James Staggs of San Antonio, TX, David Staggs of Nashville, TN, Robert L. Staggs of Bath Springs, TN; grandchildren, Alex and Amanda Staggs; a brother, Bubba Sawyer of Savannah, TN; a sister, Nancy Shilling of Morgan City, LA.
Private graveside services and burial will be at Shield Cemetery, Waynesboro, Tennessee, with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County directing.
