Henderson: Charlie Henry Cupples, age 86, retired farmer and residential homebuilder, died Saturday at his home in Chester County.
Mr. Cupples was born and reared in Chester County, the son of the late Pleasant Jasper and Mary Louella Jones Cupples. He farmed in the Wilson School Community all of his life. He was married to Bessie Davis of the Wilson School Community in 1948 and they made their home there all their married life. Mr. Cupples was also a carpenter and worked as an independent homebuilder beginning in 1975, building houses in Chester and Madison Counties.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Bessie Davis Cupples: two sons; Larry Cupples of Jackson, and Ricky Cupples and wife Tina of Henderson, and a daughter, Kathy Ward and husband Victor of Henderson. He was preceded in death by a son, Bobby Lane Cupples, in 1993. He has eight grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren and was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Melanie Cupples.
He also has two brothers: Jack Cupples of El Dorado, AR, and James Cupples of Jackson, and a sister Nellie Macon of Jackson. He was preceded in death by brothers Thomas and Franklin Cupples and sisters Birtie Cooper and Ophelia Davis.
