Henry “Clifford” Wright, 95, of Collinwood, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on April 13, 2025.

Clifford was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather whose life was marked by faith, humility, and a deep love for his family. He was married to his beloved wife, Ethel Wright, for 73 wonderful years—a testament to enduring love and commitment.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Pam Perry.

He leaves behind a loving family who will cherish his memory: his wife, Ethel Wright; his son, Doug Wright (Peggy) of Gig Harbor, Washington; his son-in-law, Orv Perry of Florence, Alabama; his grandchildren, Lindsay Humphreys (Jason) of Florence, Alabama, Greg Perry (Ashley) of Helena, Alabama, Brad Wright (Katie) of Gig Harbor, Washington, and Adam Wright (Tiffany) of Mesa, Arizona; as well as nine great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Guilford Wright of Iron City, Tennessee.

Clifford proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was a longstanding and faithful member of Burns Chapel Freewill Baptist Church. Outside of his service and church, he found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He had a deep love for music and could often be found playing the guitar, mandolin, or fiddle. He also enjoyed raising hunting dogs and goats, and he especially loved quail hunting—passions that reflected his connection to the land and a slower, meaningful way of life.

He will be remembered most for his gentle and humble spirit, his unwavering faith, and his love of the Lord. His quiet strength and kindness left a lasting impression on all who knew him.

The family extends a special thank you to the nurses and caregivers at Lauderdale Christian Nursing Home, who went above and beyond in their compassionate care.

Pallbearers include Don Hale, James Putman, Stephen Putman, J.C. Daniel, Junior Wright, and Jerry Roberson.

Visitation will be held Friday, April 17th from 5:00–7:00 p.m. at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Collinwood, Tennessee. The funeral service will be held Saturday, April 18th at 11:00 a.m. at Shackelford with Brother Ed Burbank of Burns Chapel Freewill Baptist officiating.
