HENSEL PEDDY
Luray, TN: Hensel Hooper Peddy age 72 passed away Wednesday December 14, 2016 at TriStar Centennial Medical Center in Nashville.
He was born September 11, 1944 in Ypsilanti, Michigan and grew up in Chester County, the son of the late Herschel Hooper Peddy and Sarah Jones Peddy. He graduated from Chester County High School in 1963 and attended West Tennessee Business College. He worked at Bemis Cotton Mill a couple of years and then made his career with South Central Bell as a cable repairman and later technician retiring after thirty-six years.
They were community volunteers in the Mifflin Community. He served on the Board at Hill Top Fire Department. He was a member of the Telephone pioneers. After his retirement he was an Administrative Assistant of the Department of Criminal Justice of Bethel University in Jackson. He was a member of the Woodman of the World. He was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church.
Mr. Peddy is survived by his wife, Teresa Louise Page Peddy of Luray; two daughters, Diane Russell and husband David of Knoxville and Christy Spencer and husband Paris of Medina; three sons, Mark Peddy and wife Marina of Chantilly, VA, Brant Peddy and wife Harmony of Picayune, MS and Brandon Stephenson of Henderson; a brother Glendel Peddy and two sisters, Bonice Henson of Memphis and Sandra Shepherd of Pontotoc, MS, and twelve grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, December 17, 2016 at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Casey Chapel with Aaron Michael, Carroll Priddy and Zachary Russell officiating. Burial will follow in New Friendship Cemetery in Chester County.
The family will receive friends at Casey Chapel 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM Friday.
