Services will be on Wednesday, December 23, 2009 at 3:00 pm Cromwell Crossroad Church, Collinwood,TN with Greg Eaton, officiation. Interment will follow in Memorial Gardens, Collinwood,TN with Shackelford Funeral Director of Wayne County in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, December 22, from 6:00 pm until service time @ Cromwell Crossroad Church, Collinwood,TN
Mr. Herman Ayers departed this life on Monday, December 21, 2009 at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee at the age of 86 Years, 22 Days.
He was born November 29, 1923 in Wayne County, the son of the late William Harper and Mary Jane Horton Ayers. In addition to his parents, Mr. Ayers was preceded in death by a son, Larry Ayers; three brothers, Ernest Ayers, Howard Ayers and Hardin Ayers
He was united in marriage to Lesbie Sherrill on April 1, 1950.
Mr. Ayers was retired from Hassell and Hughes Lumber Company. He attended Cromwell Crossroads and was also of the Freewill Baptist Faith.
He is survived by ;
his wife Lesbie (Sherrill) Ayers of Collinwood, TN; two sons, J.H. Ayers and wife Judy of Collinwood, TN, Jerry Ayers and wife Stephanie of Waynesboro, TN;
grandchildren; Jerdie Ayers ; Bronson Ayers (fiance Shena Bradley) ; Shelena and Kelsey Ayers
great grandchild; Corbin Ayers
