Herman "Gene" Dickerson was born April 25, 1954, the son of Jessie Herman and Nancy Louise Morris Dickerson who preceded him in death. On March 1, 1996 he was united in marriage to Beverly Kaye Shelby.
Following his high school years, Gene worked for Angelica in Savannah, Tennessee and Landau Sewing in Selmer, Tennessee before going to work as a machinist for Nicko Sewing in Stanton, Tennessee. He served his country as a member of the National Guard and his God as a member of the Savannah Foursquare Church. Gene loved hunting and fishing and enjoyed cooking the fish he caught. He also enjoyed dancing.
Herman "Gene" Dickerson departed this life on Saturday, December 30, 2017 at the age of 63. In addition to his wife of 21 years, he leaves his step-children Brandi Sharit of Adamsville, Tennessee and Tina Tyler, Christopher Sullivan, and Byron Hudson, all of Savannah, Tennessee; one brother, Terry Dickerson of Savannah, Tennessee, and two step-grandchildren, Christian Sullivan and Briley Hudson.
