Herman Clyde (HC) Thompson

Herman Clyde (H C) Thompson Jr. of Cypress Inn, TN was born May 21, 1940 in Wayne Co., TN, the son of the late Herman Clyde and Sarah Ruth Brewer Thompson. He married Wanda K. Harper on July 3, 2012 and was a retired inspector with Ford Motor Company.

Mr. Thompson departed this life on Wednesday, July 5, 2017at Waynesboro Health and Rehab, Waynesboro, Tennessee at the age of 77 Years, 1 Month, 14 Days after a brief illness.

He is survived by his wife, Wanda K. Thompson of Cypress Inn, TN; sons, Tim Thompson of New Port, AR, Scotty Thompson and wife, Amanda of Taylorsville, KY; daughters, Tammy Walter and husband, Larry of Collinwood, TN, Angie Taylor and husband, Paul of Bald Knob, AR, Jennifer Roger and husband, Jason of Stockbridge, GA; step-daughters, Shelley Bray of Iuka, MS, Brandy Wilson of Ringgold, GA; 14 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, 1 step-great-grandchild; brothers, Travis and Dennis Thompson both of Collinwood, TN; sisters, Mary (Pat) Jackson of Iron City, TN, Martha Pulley of Collinwood, TN, Pam Caperton of Lawrenceburg, TN; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Thompson was preceded in death by a niece, Teresa Holt.

Services will be Sunday, July 9, 2017 at 1:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors chapel, Collinwood, Tennessee, with Camryn Eaton and Everett Rich officiating. Burial will follow in McGlamery Cemetery, Collinwood, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County, directing. Visitation will be Saturday, July 8, 2017 from 5 pm to 8 pm and Sunday, July 9, 2017 from 11 am until service time at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Mike Harper, Nathanial Walter, Michael Taylor, Larry Miller, Joey Stout, Paul Taylor and Hank Wilson.
