Hermie Ree McCollum, a cherished resident of Adamsville, TN, left this world on March 3, 2024, at the age of 93. She passed away at Jackson Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, TN, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.

Born on March 10, 1930, Hermie was the beloved daughter of the late Hollie Edward and Lula Naylor Plunk. On December 22, 1950, she entered into a lifelong partnership with the love of her life, WD McCollum, sharing over seven decades of unwavering devotion and companionship. Hermie also embraced her role as a pastor's wife with love and dedication, bringing comfort and support to their congregation.

Hermie's vibrant spirit radiated through her passion for camping and fishing, yet her greatest joy stemmed from the deep love she held for her family, which she cherished above all else. She leaves behind a beautiful tapestry of loved ones, including her devoted husband, WD McCollum, her son, Tommy McCollum, and his wife Carlene. Her presence will also be deeply missed by her cherished grandchildren: Gary McCollum, Jr. and his wife Susan, BreeAnn Luna and her husband Jonathan, Brandon McCollum and his wife Jennifer. Additionally, she leaves behind a legacy carried on by her great-grandchildren: Tyler, Maguire, and Makenzie Luna, Conner McCollum, Karlee Hawks and her husband Brandon, Madison McCollum, Cason, and Hadley McCollum. Her memory will further be cherished by her great-great-grandson, Jase Hawks.

While Hermie has bid her earthly farewell, she is joyfully reunited with her parents, Hollie Edwards and Lula Naylor Plunk, her beloved son, Gary McCollum Sr., and her grandson, Jason McCollum. She is also greeted in eternal peace by her siblings: Eula Davis, David Plunk, Hettie Plunk, Claudie Plunk, Mary Nell Hubanks, Curtis Plunk, Rev. Jessie Plunk, and Eva Plunk. Hermie Ree McCollum's life was a testament to love, resilience, and the beauty of family bonds. She will be remembered fondly by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Though she may have departed this world, her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved her dearly.
