HILDA BAILEY
Oakfield, TN: Hilda Jeanette Gholson Bailey, age 84, died early Sunday morning, June 7, 2020 at her daughter’s home in Oakfield, TN.
She was born November 3, 1935 in Bloomfield, IN, the daughter of the late William “Bill” and Wilma Pearson Gholson. She attended Steele’s private school in Jackson, TN and graduated Nursing School at McKellar in Jackson. She married Curtis B. Bailey in 1950. They made their home at Oakfield.
She was an LPN at Jackson General Hospital, having worked in several departments, for twenty-four years, retiring in 1997.
She was a member of Northside Pentecostal Church in Jackson and recently attended Spirit of Truth Outreach New Covenant Church with her sister.
Mrs. Bailey is survived by two daughters, Pam Hickman (Donnie) of Oakfield and Cathy Bailey of Jackson; seven grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren; two brothers, Jack Gholson and Jerry Gholson both of Bloomfield, ID; two sisters, Shirley Bailey of Huron and Nina Hausperberg of North Vernon, IN.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Curtis B. Bailey (2017); a son, Curtis Mike Bailey, (2016) and two brothers, Kenny Gholson and Larry Gholson.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Thursday, at Shackelford Funeral Directors – East Main Chapel, with Pastor Carlos Gregory officiating. Burial will follow in Bailey Cemetery at Jacks Creek, TN.
The family will receive friends at East Main Chapel from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Wednesday.
