Mrs. Beatse passed away Thursday morning, April 6, 2017 at her home.
A native of Middleton, she was the daughter of the late Loyd and Lora Howell Maxwell and grew up in Middleton where she graduated high school. On April 28, 1961, she was married to Chuck Beatse. After his career in the military, the Beatse family moved to Middleton in 1977, where they have resided for 40 years. Hilda worked 20 years in Data Processing at Western Mental Health Institute.
Mrs. Beatse was a faithful, long-time member of the Middleton Church of Christ, where she was active in many aspects of church work, but particularly enjoyed being a mentor for Lads to Leaders. Additionally, she was a member of the Middleton Women's Club and she enjoyed scrapbooking. Described as a woman "who never met a stranger", she was always ready to visit and enjoy the company of family and friends.
She is survived by her husband of nearly 56 years, Chuck Beatse of Middleton; her sons, Russ (Tammy) Beatse of Collierville and Craig (Mylene) Beatse of Middleton; three sisters, Beverly Martindale of Batesville, MS, Patricia Carter of Middleton and Rose Mary Keller of Rogers Springs, TN; three brothers, Don Maxwell of Bossier City, LA, Jim Maxwell of Middleton and Barry Maxwell of Paducah, KY; and four grandchildren, Clayton, Haley, Caroline and Anna Marie.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a niece, Tonya Maxwell Hart.
