Hollis H. McDonald departed this life on Wednesday, March 29, 2017, at the age of 82 years, 2 months, and 4 days. He was born in Clifton, Tennessee on January 25, 1935, the son of the late Hubert Lonzo and Lillie Mae Ricketts McDonald. On September 22, 1956, he was united in marriage Mae Belle Humphrey, who survives.
Hollis was a farmer, carpenter, and retired as a cabinet maker. He loved to play music and sing, ride four wheelers, and woodworking. He was a member of the Shiloh Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mae Belle McDonald of Enville, Tennessee; daughter, Pam Nowell and husband Rocky of Enville, Tennessee; granddaughter, Elizabeth Nowell Elway and husband John; great-granddaughter, McKinna Nowell; and step great-grandchildren, Haylee Elway, Jacob Elway, and Nolan Elway.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, LaVern McDonald; and sisters, Rotha Nell Vickery and husband Edd, Lockey Dodson and husband Paul, and Betty Baxter and husband J.D.
