Homer Lee Hill, 86, of Selmer, Tennessee, was born November 17, 1939, in Bethel Springs, Tennessee, the son of the late Gilbert Guy and Maggie Johnson Hill.

He was united in marriage to Minnie Jo Wilson on September 5, 1959. Together, they shared more than 67 years of marriage. Homer loved his wife and family more than anything, and they were truly the center of his life.

Homer was a faithful member of Eastside Church of Christ in Selmer, Tennessee. He drove a Wonder Bread truck for more than 30 years and also worked as a relief manager for a motel chain. Later, he worked as a truck driver for Spectrum, Sammy Kiser, and Moore Brothers. He was a hardworking and dependable man who took great pride in providing for and caring for those he loved.

Homer was also a very talented woodworker. He enjoyed working with his hands and made swings and all kinds of beautiful furniture for his family. These pieces were made with love and will remain treasured reminders of him for generations to come.

More than anything, Homer cherished his family. He found great joy in spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. His love, hard work, and quiet ways of showing he cared created countless memories that his family will carry with them always.

Mr. Hill departed this life on September 29, 2026, in Selmer, Tennessee, at the age of 86 years, 10 months, and 12 days.

He is survived by his loving wife, Minnie Jo (Wilson) Hill of Selmer, Tennessee; a son, Jimmy Hill and wife Geneva of Bethel Springs, Tennessee; two daughters, Cathy Carothers of Adamsville, Tennessee, and Ann Talley and husband Billy of Corinth, Mississippi; twelve grandchildren, Mandy Hill, John Carothers and wife Laura, Cortney Terry and husband David, Maegan Mayfield and husband Jonathan, Richard Carothers, Lacie Naylor and husband Josh, Nikki Leath and Jon, Sarah Grace Mitchell and husband Robert, Benjamin Carothers and wife Shauna, Dustin Talley and wife Meghan, Thomas Carothers and wife Sarah, and Breanna Talley; a brother, Billy Joe Hill of Henderson, Tennessee; a sister-in-law, Betty Vetter; 25 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Hill was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Morris Carothers; two brothers, Roy Wayne Hill and John Elbert Hill; a brother-in-law, Bob Vetter; and his mother-in-law, Nello Wilson.

Homer leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, hard work, and family. The beautiful things he made with his hands will be cherished, but the greatest legacy he leaves is the love he gave to his family. He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
