Homer Curtis Smith

Mr. Homer Curtis Smith of Middleton departed this life Saturday night, March 30, 2013 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, TN.



He was born in Stanton, Tennessee July 19, 1936 to the late Albert and Willie Smith and worked as a Building and Codes Officer for the Collierville City Government prior to retiring in 1996. In 1997, he moved to Middleton and married Betty Faye Sides, who survives. He was a member of the Harmony Baptist Church in Walnut, Mississippi and enjoyed singing and playing the guitar.



Along with his wife, Mr. Smith is survived by two stepdaughters, Darlene Harwell and husband Mike of Houston, Texas, and Donna Hickman of Walls, Mississippi; a stepson, Alan Hudson of Olive Branch, Mississippi; a brother, Ray Smith and wife Debbie of Henderson; a sister, Alice Waddell of Brownsville; two grandchildren, Connor and Ryan Harwell; and several nieces and nephews.



In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by eleven brothers and sisters.
