Howard Grimes

He was born in Craighead County, AR and grew up in Savannah, TN. He was the son of the late John Wade and Cora Alma White Grimes. They moved to Henderson in the early 40’s. Mr. Grimes worked at Grinnell for 20 year and that is where he met Barbara and they were married in 1984. After he retired from Grinnell he and Barbara owned and operated Grimes Country Kitchen at Saltillo, TN, later at Reagan and then Grimes Ranch House in Lexington, TN. They retired from the restaurant business in 2004.



He is survived by his wife Barbara Matthews Grimes of Lexington, TN, four daughters Brenda Grimes of Mexico, Debbie Lawson of Kingsport, TN, Julie Collins and Barbara Pritchard of Lexington, TN and two sisters Lorene Vernon of Henderson and Mary Carroll of Memphis. Seven grandchildren and one great grandchild.
