Graveside service for Howard Russell, Jr., age 60 of Clifton, TN will be 3:00 PM Tuesday, June 23, 2009 at Prater's Chapel Cemetery in Clifton, Tennessee with Luke Gladwin officiating. Interment with military rites following services with Shackelford Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements.Mr. Russell was born August 13, 1948 in Humboldt, Tennessee, the son of the late Howard Russell, Sr. and Estelle Smith Russell. Mr. Russell died on Thursday, June 18, 2009 at the age of 60 years, 10 Months, and 5 Days. He was preceded in death by a sister, Rose Mary Russell Sykes. Mr. Russell was a disabled U.S. Army veteran, receiving the Purple Heart while serving in Viet-Nam in 1967 and 1968. He is survived by a son, Howard Russell, III (Scooter) of Clifton, TNsisters; Lola Wells of Arkansas, Gerri Bryant of Missouri, Sue Smith of Illinois, and Carolyn Essary of Jackson, TNbrother, Mark Steven Russell of Clifton, TN
