Howard W. Shearon

January 15, 1930 — April 3, 2005

Howard W. Shearon, 75 yrs. of age, of Grand Junction, TN, passed away on Sunday, April 3, 2005 at Baptist Memorial Hospital East in Memphis.



He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Imogene (Gene) Shearon. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Grand Junction, TN serving as deacon for many years. He was a farmer and cattleman who loved to watch his crops and cattle grow. He was active in the Hardeman County Farm Bureau and the Soil Conservation District and was Soil Conservation Farmer of the Year for 1965. For many years, he also served on the Board of Directors of the Hardeman County Production Credit Association and the Hardeman County

Farmers Co-op. Additionally, he was elected to the Board of Directors of the Tennessee Farmers Co-op where he served on the Board for seven years completing his term as Board Chairman.



He is pre-deceased by his parents, Mr. & Mrs. George W. Shearon of Bolivar, TN; a sister, Helen Shearon Mercier of Corinth, Miss. and a brother, Forest B. Shearon of Richmond, KY. In addition to his wife, survivors include one brother, George Curtis Shearon of Jackson, TN and one sister, Maxine Shearon Ross of Bolivar, TN. He leaves four children and their spouses, Dennis W. and Diana Shearon of N. Little Rock, AR, Amy Shearon Harper and Coby of Sevierville, TN, Julie Shearon Babian and Edgar of Germantown, TN and Robert H. and Shannon Shearon of Collierville, TN; four grandsons, Matthew W. Shearon, Coby Van Harper II, Nathan A. Babian and Daniel W. Babian and three granddaughters, Katherine L. Shearon, Parker F. Shearon and Margaret T. Shearon.



Services for Mr. Shearon were 11 AM Wednesday, April 6 at Shackelford Funeral Directors chapel in Bolivar with burial in Bolivar Memorial Cemetery.
