Mr. White passed way Monday morning at his home near Saulsbury.
A native and life-long resident of Hardeman County, he was the son of the late Ernest and Ruth Atmore Jackson White. He served his country in the US Army during the Korean War where he was a Corporal in the 690th Field Artillery Battalion, Battery C. He retired from Troxel Corporation in Moscow as an engineer and foreman after 27 years of service. Mr. White also worked on the family farm raising cattle, cotton and corn. A member of the Middleton Church of Christ, he enjoyed raising and showing saddle horses and gardening. He had been a past member of the Middleton American Legion.
He leaves his daughter, Karen Sue (Keith) Bumpus of Middleton; 3 sons, Charles E. (Faye) White, Thomas L. "Tom" (Nancy) White and Doug (Kim) White, all of Middleton; his loving friend and caregiver, Sandra Shelby of Saulsbury; 8 grandchildren, Jeremy (Kim) Bumpus, Jessica (Matthew) Kirk, Eric and Austin White, Rusty (Amanda) Baker, Andy White, Shannon Baker and Regina Potts; and 9 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Jerry Wayne White; his sister, Lenora Maxwell; his brother, Harold White; and a grandchild, Briton White.
