Mr. Howard A. Young, age 84 of Toone, Tennessee, passed away Monday morning, November 18, 2019.
He was born in Hardeman County on Friday, November 1, 1935 to the late Statler "Stat" Young and Mary E. "Tot" Cupples Young. He married Fairy Ruth Vickers on June 1, 1959. Mrs. Young passed away on October 1, 1987. He also was preceded in death by a daughter, Vickie Young; two sisters, Beatrice Cofer and Martha Ann Knight; and a brother, Harold Young.
A farmer and heavy equipment operator, Mr. Young lived 32 years in Memphis before returning to Hardeman County in 1995. He served his country in the US Army from 1959-1961 and, in his leisure time, loved to hunt and fish.
He leaves two daughters, Alisha Young of Toone and Tammy (Randy) Foster of West Memphis, AR; one son, Charles (Audra) Young of Atoka, TN; five sisters, Mary Helen Wiggins of Bolivar, Faye Hezeau of Chalmette, LA, Margaret (Deryal) Crawford of Bolivar, Sue (Robert) Thearp of Bolivar and Lois (Don) Hyman of Pickwick, TN; two brothers, Dewey (Pam) Young of Henderson and Carey (Louise) Young of Trumble, CT; five grandchildren, Kristen (Brandon) Massey, Kyle Young, Kayla Young, Josh (Bayleigh) Diotte and Allyson Young; two great-grandchildren, Anderson and Jase Thomas Massey; and an aunt, Gracie Starkey of Medon.
