Hubert Sam Hunt was born in Ridgely, Tennessee on September 10, 1932, the son of the late James Laden and Bessie Lillian Mills Hunt. On May 26, 1950, he was united in marriage to Ada Marie Dickey, who preceded him in death on February 2, 1997. Hubert departed this life on July 22, 2019, at the age of 86 years, 10 months, and 12 days.
Hubert attended First Assembly of God Church and was ordained into the United Christian Church and Ministerial Association. In his lifetime, he worked various jobs in Kalamazoo, Michigan for 4 years, for the St. Louis Car Company in St. Louis, Missouri for 9 years, and for various towboat companies for 55 years while living in Savannah, Tennessee. Hubert loved music, which he showed by playing his guitar, singing on Channel 10 at Unity Broadcasting in Adamsville, Tennessee, singing at the flea market in Crump, Tennessee while his wife, Ada, cooked and sold hamburgers for many years, and singing at the nursing home. He also loved to laugh and tell jokes.
Hubert is survived by his daughters, Judy Hunt Rich and husband Tommy, Sandra Hunt Bonee, and Peggy Hunt Morris, all of Savannah, Tennessee; sisters, Bonnie Braswell and Opal Baxter, both of Savannah, Tennessee; grandchildren, Christy Blackwelder, Phillip Rich, Vanessa Duren, Jana Davis, Jeremy Bonee, Timothy Bonee, Shanna Davis, Angela Baker, Bradley Hunt, and Crystal Melson; 26 great grandchildren; and 6 great great grandchildren.
Hubert was preceded in death by his daughters, Margie Hunt White and Carol Jo Hunt Collins; brothers, Charles Laden (L.C.) Hunt, Howard Odell Hunt, and Bobby Joe Hunt; sisters, Myrtle Hunt Baxter, Bertha L.V. Hunt Harville, and Betty Sue Hunt Killough; grandchild, April Nicole Scott; and sons-in-law, Jerry Bonee and Johnny Morris.
