He was born in Alcorn County, MS the son of the late J. I. and Dora Newcomb Harville. He was raised in Chester County and graduated Chester County High School in 1959. Mr. Harville patented the first soft plastic injection machine and later owned and operated the Harville Manufacturing, which was the largest manufacturing of soft plastic baits in the world. He invented the widow maker worm and the chicken foot. Hugh was married to Cathy Hendrix in 1997. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bethel Springs, TN.He is survived by his wife, Cathy Hendrix Harville of Bethel Springs, a daughter, Amy Harville of Jackson, two sons, Mark Harville of Jackson and Lee Harville of Idaho, 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; 3 sisters, Dorothy May Richardson of Finger, Celeste Moore of Henderson and Barbara Ray of Jackson; three brothers, John A. Harville of Henry, TN, Max Harville of Jackson and Ray Harville of Henderson.
