Ida Rebecca Higgins

Ida Rebecca Whitehead Higgins of Waynesboro, TN was born January 10, 1935 in Waynesboro, TN, the daughter of the late Robert Franklin and Martha Loretta Skelton Whitehead. She was united in marriage to Francis John Higgins on November 24, 1972 and he preceded her in death on April 4, 2002.



Mrs. Higgins was a retired factory worker and departed this life on Thursday, April 19, 2012 at Lewis County Nursing Home in Hohenwald, Tennessee at the age of 77 Years, 3 Months, 9 Days.



She is survived by two sons, Johnny Whitehead of Hohenwald, TN, Samuel Curtis of Waynesboro, TN; three grandchildren, Adam Whitehead, Steven James Whitehead, Laura Horner; 6 Great-Grandchildren; two brothers, James Whitehead of Hohenwald, TN, Carl Whitehead of Waynesboro, TN; three sisters, Gertrude Frazier of Cumberland City, TN, Nora Gassman of Romulus, MI, Fannie Warren of Clifton, TN; several nieces and nephews.



In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Higgins was preceded in death by five brothers, Olin, Jay, Robert, Albert, and Joe Whitehead; three sisters, Ruth Carroll, Bessie Potete, Mary Wilson, and an unnamed infant sibling.



Services will be held on Saturday, April 21, 2012 at 10:00 AM at Shackelford Funeral Directors Chapel, Waynesboro, Tennessee, with Cary Crews officiating. Burial will follow in the Skelton Cemetery, Waynesboro, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Director, Wayne County, directing. Pallbearers will be Adam Whitehead, Steven Whitehead, Jamie Givens, Denny Young, Steve Horner, and Raymond Morris.
