Ida Jeter Prater
was born in Clifton, Tennessee on February 13, 1924 the daughter of the late John Thomas and Mary Jane (Mollie) Pevahouse Jeter.
On December 1, 1945 she was united in marriage to Millard Devergie Prater, who preceded her in death on February 10, 1988.
Mrs. Prater was a lifelong resident of Clifton, Tennessee and had retired from Clifton Contracting, where she was a seamstress. She enjoyed making clothes, spending time with her grandchildren and her twin sister. She was a member of the Clifton Church of Christ.
Mrs. Prater departed this life on Friday, July 2, 2010 at the age of 86 years, 4 months, 19 days.
She is survived by 2 daughters, Laura Prater and Nancy L. Prater both of Savannah, Tennessee; 2 sons, Jerry M. Prater and wife Wanda, Mark A. Prater all of Clifton, Tennessee; 12 grandchildren, Tammi, Tonya, Tyler, Miranda, Matthew, Elliot, Zane, Lesley, Samuel, Trent, Daniel, and Joy; 12 great-grandchildren, Delaney Rose, Colby, Justin, Payton, Cameron, Austin, Aliya, Levi, Alayna, Jonalt, Charliann, and Alex; 2 sisters, twin sister, Ada Ruth Jeter of Clifton, Tennessee and Polly N. Jeter of Savannah, Tennessee; a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Mildred Sharon Prater; a great-granddaughter, Vanessa Skelton; 4 brothers, Robert, Paul, Jack, and Ed Jeter; 2 half brothers, Neal and Carl Jeter; 2 half sisters, Minnie Lineberry and Ola Williams.
