Idonas Tucker

Idonas Tucker was born on April 3, 1921 in Decatur County, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Ben Herbert and Vestie Ann Geathing Morgan.

On May 15, 1937, she was united in marriage to Jesse Boyd Tucker, who preceded his wife in death on May 3, 1979.

Mrs. Tucker was a member of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, Women's Club at Sardis, and Home Demonstration of Henderson County. Prior to her retirement, she worked in a nursing home, school, and at Saltillo HIS factory. She donated time to her community, carrying food and visiting with those who were sick or in need. Idonas enjoyed participating in activities with the senior citizen's center, quilting, and sewing. During her younger years, she loved to travel, especially going out west or to Alaska to visit her niece..

Idonas Tucker departed this life on January 6, 2024 in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 102 years, 9 months, and 3 days.

She is survived by her daughter, Ann Hanna; son, Jerry Boyd Tucker (Shirley); grandchildren, Kim, Bentley, Carol Ann, Janet, Donna, Brent, Jeremy, Jana, Kevin, and Terry; great grandchildren, Ryan, Amanda, Daniel, Jada, Gillis, Garth, Max, Emma, Peyton, Brymlee, Trace, Brandon, and Shannon; and great great grandchildren, Brookes, Callie, Kate, Ty, Anslee, Cade, Maddie, Raylynn, Ruby, Savannah, Colby, Kayela, and Ashton.

In addition to her parents and husband, Idonas was preceded in death by her daughter, Betty Bingham; son in law, Norris Bingham; brother, Houston Morgan; sisters, Evie Montgomery, Ruth Morgan Carver and Hazel Lomax; and 3 infant siblings.
