IMOGENE KNIPPER HEARN
Henderson, TN: Rachel Imogene Knipper Hearn, age 86 passed away April 23, 2017 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.
She was born September 28, 1930 at Silerton, the daughter of the late William Alvin and Mary Newman Knipper. She went to school at Silerton and married William Dowell Hearn in 1953. They made their home in Henderson. She worked at Salant and Salant Mfg. for eighteen years. They then operated Hearn’s Produce and the Sinclair Service Station at Main and Church Street. She worked at Jackson General Hospital for seventeen years, when she retired. She was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church.
She loved cooking, canning, quilting, coloring and raising a garden. She had been a caregiver for many of her family all of her life.
Mrs. Hearn is survived by a daughter, Deborah Moody and husband Terry of Henderson; six grandsons and three great grandsons; two brothers, Curtis Knipper and Archie Knipper both of Henderson and a sister, Brenda Peterson of Enville.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; a son, Denver Hearn in 2001 and a brother, J.W. Knipper.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Casey Chapel with David Tull and Iran Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Casey Chapel 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM on Tuesday.
