Imogene Plunk Johnson

Imogene Plunk Johnson was born December 23, 1927 in Bethel Springs, TN the daughter of the late Oscar Lafayette and Nellie Yarbrough Plunk.

She was united in marriage to James Paul Johnson on December 23, 1944. Mr. Johnson preceded her in death on August 30, 2000.

Mrs. Johnson was a member of the Beauty Hill Pentecostal Church in Bethel Springs, TN. She enjoyed gardening, canning, sewing, floral design, and spoiling grandkids, great grandkids and great great grandkids.

Mrs. Johnson departed this life on May 8, 2023 in Bethel Springs, Tennessee at the age of 95 Years, 4 Months, 15 Days. She is survived by three daughters, Paulette Trammell of Oklahoma City, OK, Jeanette Morgan Sitzes of Memphis, TN, Debbie Church of Bethel Springs, TN; two sons, James Leroy Johnson of Finger, TN, Richard Thomas Johnson and wife Janette of Murfreesboro, TN; a sister, Billie Smith of Clovis, CA; two brothers, Ronald Glen Plunk and wife Ima Jo of Bethel Springs, TN, Rodrick Paul Plunk and wife Sherrill of Bethel Springs, TN; 

eight grandchildren, Gregg Trammell and wife Lynn, Jennifer Oldfield and husband Kevin, Deena Newman and husband Roy, Jonathan Morgan, Michelle Chaney and husband Roger, Justin David Church and wife Jennifer, Joshua Garrette Church and wife Charley, Amber Danielle Jones and husband Taylor; 21 Great Grandchildren and 12 Great Great Grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by two sons, Jimmy Dale Johnson and Paul Terry Johnson; three sons-in-law, Earnest Trammell, McRae Sitzes, Gary David Church; daughter-in-law, Kathy Johnson; two brothers, Lavern Plunk, Lafayette Plunk;  two sisters, Camilla Felker, Marion Murray; sister-in-law,  Dorothy Plunk; brothers-in-law, Raiford Smith, AC Felker, Macel Murray.
