Imogene Sherrill

Imogene Newborn Sherrill of Cypress Inn, TN was born January 22, 1937 in Collinwood, TN, the daughter of the late Leonard C. and Lillie Ellen Ayers Newborn. She was united in marriage to Joel Edward Sherrill on December 14, 1957 and he preceded her in death on June 20, 2002.

Mrs. Sherrill was retired from Angelica/Collinwood Manufacturing and was a member of the Cromwell Crossroads Church, Collinwood, Tennessee.

She departed this life on Friday, October 2, 2020 at North Alabama Medical Center in Florence, Alabama at the age of 83 Years, 8 Months and 10 Days.

She is survived by a son, Darrell Sherrill of Cypress Inn, TN; three grandchildren, Brandi Sherrill, Brittany Denning and husband, Andrew and Brian Sherrill; one great-grandchild, Joella Bowman; two sisters, Wilodean Wright and Wanda Eaton both of Collinwood, TN and a sister-in-law, Linda Newborn of Collinwood, TN and nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Sherrill was preceded in death by a son, Harold Edward Sherrill; a brother, Jimmy Newborn and brothers-in-law, Grady Wright and Charles Eaton.

Services will be held on Monday, October 5, 2020 at 1:00 PM at Cromwell Crossroads Church in Collinwood, Tennessee, with Greg Eaton, Camryn Eaton and Earl Rich officiating. Burial will follow in the Cromwell Crossroads Cemetery, Collinwood, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors of Wayne County assisting the family. Visitation will be Sunday, October 4, 2020 from 6 pm to 9 pm at Shackelford Funeral Directors, Collinwood, TN. Her body will be placed in the church three hours before the services.

Pallbearers will be Brian Sherrill, Andrew Denning, Vince Newborn, Tim Newborn, Terry Wright and Caleb Balentine.
