INETHA ‘SHIRLEY’ HARVEY

 Henderson, TN: Inetha Geraldine ‘Shirley’ Connor Harvey, age 83 passed away January 23, 2024, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.

She was born and reared in the Glendale Community and spent all of her life there, the daughter of the late Isacc Parrish and Inez Hodge Connor. She attended Chester County Schools.

She married Wallace Nelson Harvey in 1960. She worked at Salant & Salant Mfg. and Chester County Sportswear. She was a member of the Unity Baptist Church and Middlefork Road Baptist Church. She sang in the choir and was very active in the church duties. She had read her Bible cover to cover three times and was a devoted Christian woman.

She enjoyed gardening, raising vegetables and cooking.

Mrs. Harvey is survived by a son, Raven Harvey (Jamie) of Jackson and a daughter, Libby Palmer (William) of Jackson and three grandchildren, Haley Porter, Corbin Harvey and Hayden Wray and a brother, Pat Connor of Henderson and a sister, Marydell Gilchrist of Henderson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Wallace Nelson Harvey in 2011; brothers, Melborne Connor, Kent Connor, Carroll Connor, Gene Connor, Isacc Parrish Connor, Jr., Thomas Connor and Paul Connor; sisters, Nellie Rouse and Wilma Adcock.   

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Friday, at Shackelford Funeral Directors – East Main Chapel with Bro. Glenn Harris and Bro. Johnny Connor officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at East Main 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Thursday.
