Iris Mae Roberts

Iris M. Roberts was born March 8, 1925 in Beaver Falls, PA, the daughter of the late Frank Wills and Ester Tate. She was united in marriage to Jesse Roberts on August 28, 1945. They were happily married for 63 years before he passed away. They met in San Francisco and married in Memphis when he was wounded in WWII while serving in the Navy on the Carrier Bataan.

Iris was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed puzzles, sidoku, crossword puzzles, playing piano and singing. She had a great faith in her blessed Lord and loved her family.

Mrs. Roberts departed this life on August 26, 2018 in Selmer, Tennessee at the age of 93 Years, 5 Months, 18 Days.

She is survived by her children: Connie Peters, Jay Roberts, Jack Roberts; daughter-in-laws, Leigh and Bonnie Roberts;16 Grandchildren, 39 Great Grandchildren, 2 Great Great Grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Roberts was preceded in death by a son, Frank Roberts; two granddaughters, Laura Roberts and Jessica Deluca; a sister, Ada King; two brothers, Hubert Wills, Francis Wills; daughter-in-law, Joyce Roberts; and a son-in-law, James Peters.

Visitation will be held on August 29, 2018 from 10 am until services at 1 pm at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Selmer, Tennessee. Burial will follow in the West Union Cemetery at Millington, Tennessee.
