Iva Nora Bratton

Mrs. Iva Nora Bratton departed this life on Wednesday, April 14, 2010 at her residence in Collinwood, Tennessee at the age of 81 Years, 1 Month, 9 Days. She was born March 5, 1929 in Cypress Inn, Tennessee, the daughter of the late James Thomas (Jimmy) and Susan Rich Gillis. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bratton was preceded in death by her former husband, the father of her children; Walter Bratton; stepsons, Marvin and Melvin Bratton; brothers, Ira and James Gillis; and sister, Lora Bevis.



Mrs Bratton was a homemaker and a member of the Piney Grove Freewill Baptist Church in Cypress Inn, Tennessee.



Survivors, son, Sonny Bratton and wife, Sherry of Collinwood, TN; daughters, Judy Kephart and husband, Charlie of Waynesboro, TN, Brenda Keeton and husband, Terry and Susan Miley and husband, Allen all of Collinwood, TN;, step-daughters, Jewell Reaves of Cypress Inn, TN, Joyce White of Lawrenceburg, TN, Linda Morris and husband, Ricky of Collinwood, TN;

grandchildren, Austin Kephart and wife, Julie, Amy Kephart, Blake and Derrick Keeton, and Chason Bratton; great-granddaughter, Andrea Kephart; several step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, and step-great-great-grandchildren; brother, Coy Gillis of Lawrenceburg, TN; sisters, Laveda Murphy and Elvesta Murphy both of Collinwood, TN; several nieces and nephews.



Services will be held on April 16, 2010 at 3:00 PM at Piney Grove Freewill Baptist Church in Cypress Inn, Tennessee, with Greg Eaton officiating. Burial will follow in the Piney Grove Cemetery at Cypress Inn, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors of Wayne County directing. Pallbearers will be J. P. Gillis, Austin Kephart, Blake and Derrick Keeton, Darrell and Jerry Murphy and honorary pallbearer will be Chason Bratton. Visitation will be Thursday, April 15, 2010 beginning at 7 pm at Piney Grove Church.
