Iva Nell Adams Talley, age 83, a beloved member of the Collinwood community and cherished family matriarch, passed away on June 12, 2025, at North Alabama Medical Center in Florence, AL, following an extended illness. She was born on September 6, 1942, in Wayne County, TN, and dedicated her life to her faith and family.
Iva Nell enjoyed a rewarding career at Lincoln Brass in Waynesboro, TN, from which she eventually retired. Throughout her life, she embodied a spirit of generosity and kindness, sharing her faith as a Baptist. Her unwavering love for our Lord and Savior was evident to all who had the privilege of speaking with her; she was a woman not afraid to share her beliefs and personal testimonies, taking every opportunity to express what the Lord had done for her and could do for those around her.
Her straightforward and plain-spoken personality meant that friends and family never had to question where Iva Nell stood on any issue. She had a zest for life that included a keen interest in visiting yard sales, exploring the Goodwill Store, and hunting for treasures at flea markets. Throughout her life she had many cats that became her treasured companions and fur babies.
Iva Nell leaves behind her two daughters, Sharon Hollis and husband Tommy and Pam Holden and husband Greg. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Justin Brewer and wife MaKenzie and Jamison Holden, as well as her great-granddaughter, Anna Brewer. She is also survived by her sisters, Mattie Ruth Staggs Robbins and Doris Vaden, brother-in-law Aaron Pope, sister-in-law Carolyn Adams, and many nieces and nephews who will deeply miss her.
Iva Nell is preceded in death by her loving parents, Thomas Lee and Beulah Mae Holt Adams; her first husband, Mitchell Stults, who passed away on June 2, 1984; her second husband, James Lee "Ron" Talley; her brothers, Thomas Edward "Bud" Adams and his wife Millie, Billy Joe Adams and his wife Betty, and Manuel "Dale" Adams; her sisters, Thelma "Jean" Staggs and her husband Rex J. and Dorothy Mae Pope; as well as brothers-in-law Abraham Newton "Man" Staggs and Ronald "Ronnie" Edward Vaden.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all the nurses, doctors, and staff of North Alabama Medical Center and Waynesboro Medical Center for their excellent care during the time she was a patient, and to all the home health nurses that provided care while she was at home.
