Ivan Everett Miller was born September 30, 1935 in Rapelje, MT the son of the late Charlie True and Josephine Elizabeth Smith Miller. Mr. Miller died Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at Maury Regional Hospital in Columbia, Tennessee at the age of 78 Years, 4 Months, 20 Days. Mr. Miller, a Viet-Nam War veteran, served in the U.S. Army retiring in 1976 after 22 years of service. After retirement from the U.S. Army he worked at the Veterans Hospital for over 10 years as a mechanic and in housekeeping. On November 5, 1965 he married Brenda Simmons who survives of Waynesboro.
He is survived by his wife Brenda Simmons Miller of Waynesboro, TN, a son, Ivan David Miller of Ft. Polk, LA, three daughters, Gayle Miller of Lewisburg, TN, Beverly LeBlanc of Bowling Green, KY, and Dawn Little Thunder of Kennewick, WA, four grandchildren, Jade Shaneyfelt, Ryan Shaneyfelt, Elia Miller, and Lily Miller, two brothers, Vern Miller of Superior, MT and Charles Miller of Red Lodge, MT, four sisters, Violet Paulson of Laurel, MT, Maxine Benick of Columbus, MT, Edna Gonka of Riverton, WY, and Lillian Osgood of Black Hawk, SD, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Miller was preceded in death by two brothers, Jerry Miller and Cecil Miller, two sisters, Pearl Brayley and Sherry Daniels.
Services will be on Sunday, February 23, 2014 at 4:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors Chapel in Waynesboro, Tennessee, with Don McCollugh officiating. Interment with full military honors will be on Monday, February 24, 2014 at 1:00 PM at the Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery in Nashville, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements.
Visitation will be Sunday from 12:00 PM - 3:45 PM at the funeral home.
