She was born and reared in Henderson County, Middleburg Community, the daughter of the late Roy Hobert and Buelah Estelle Flowers Powers. She attended school at Judson and Scottshill. She worked as a seamstress at Thompson Factory at Parsons and Lexington Apparel. She was married to Fred Frye in 1984. They made their home in Henderson County until she moved to Heritage Towers in 2005. She was a member of the Judson Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband Fred Frye of Henderson; a son Bro. Bobby Keen and his wife Tina of Lexington; a daughter Patricia Ann Spain and her husband Wilson of Darden, TN; two step sons Terry Frye of Jacks Creek and Troy Frye of Henderson; three step daughters Judy Taylor, Phyllis Fortune and Denise Kinchen all of Henderson; fifteen grandchildren and ten great grandchildren; two sisters, Zula Mae Marycle of Parsons and Retha Shutt of Scottshill; two brothers Chester Powers of Lexington and Hobert Powers of Huron.
