J H Ayers

Mr. J H Ayers departed this life on Saturday, October 17, 2015 at Maury Regional Hosptial in Columbia, Tennessee at the age of 64 Years, 7 Months, 8 Days. He was born March 9, 1951 in Hohenwald, TN the son of Lesbie Arnellie Sherrill Ayers of Collinwood, TN and the late Herman Alvie Ayers. In addition to his father, Mr. Ayers was preceded in death by a brother, Larry Ayers and mother in law, Marlene Moore.

J H was a retired lumber grader at Dicus Lumber Company and a member of the Collinwood Freewill Baptist Church in Collinwood, Tennessee. He was united in marriage to Judy Ann Moore on January 6, 1972.

Other than his mother he is survived by his wife Judy Ann Moore Ayers, a daughter, Jerdie Michelle Ayers both of Collinwood, TN, a brother, Jerry Ayers and wife Stephanie of Waynesboro, TN, nieces, Shelena Ayers, Kelsey Ayers, nephew, Bronson Ayers and wife Kandee, and a nephew Corbin Ayers, and father in law Vance Moore.

Services will be held on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at 3:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Home in Collinwood, Tennessee, with Steven Turnbow, Pete Turnbow, and Greg Eaton officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens at Collinwood, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, October 20, 6:00-9:00 pm and on Wednesday, October 21, 10:00 am until service time @ Shackelford Funeral Home, Collinwood, TN

Pallbearers are Harold Thompson, Larry Wright, Herb Luker, Mike Smith, Joe Eddie Melson, and Ted McWilliams; honorary pallbearers are Brent Dicus, Jerry Butler, and Bobby Holt
