J. C. Gilchrist,

J. C. Gilchrist of Lawrenceburg, TN was born November 26, 1926, the son of the late Jackson and Clara Murphy Gilchrist. He was united in marriage to Inez McFall on November 29, 1952. Mr. Gilchrist was retired from Murray Ohio Manufacturing and was a member of the Church of Christ. He had lived in Cypress Inn, Tennessee before moving to Lawrenceburg, TN.

Mr. Gilchrist departed this life on Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at NHC Healthcare in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee at the age of 88 Years, 11 Months, 23 Days.

He is survived by his wife, Inez Gilchrist; sons, Danny Gilchrist and wife, Janice and Randy Gilchrist and wife, Debbie; daughters, Melissa Clayton and husband, Tommy and Gail Staggs and husband, Gene all of Lawrenceburg, TN; grandchildren, Emily Gilchrist, Kelly Staggs, Ashley Allen, Jennifer Parnell; great-grandchildren, Kylie Grace Gilchrist and Addison Kate Allen; nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Gilchrist was preceded in death by brothers, Johnny, James, Vernon and R. D. Gilchrist; sisters, Ruby Burns, Wiladean McFall and Vergilene Gilchrist.

A graveside service will be Saturday, November 21, 2015 at the Memorial Gardens, Collinwood, Tennessee with Keith Barnett officiating. Burial will follow with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County, directing. Pallbearers will be Rodney McFall, Terry McFall, John Henry Kelley, Jeff Arnett, Gerald Risner, Ronald McFall and Daniel Allen.

Visitation will be Friday, November 20, 2015 from 5 pm to 8 pm at Salem Church of Christ, 505 Westpoint Road, Lawrenceburg, TN and Saturday, November 21, 2015 from 10 am until 11 am at Shackelford Funeral Home chapel, 993 Hwy 13 S, Collinwood, TN.
