J. C. Stricklin

J. C. (JAYBIRD) STRICKLINwas born in Hardin County, Tennessee on July 7, 1936 the son of the late Simon and Lina Wilkerson Stricklin.Mr. Stricklin was a self-employed timber cutter. He loved dancing and enjoyed riding around and kidding with people. Mr. Stricklin was a loving father and grandfather.He departed this life on December 3, 2009 in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 73 years, 4 months and 26 days.Mr. Stricklin is survived by his children, James Stricklin and his wife, April of Savannah, Tennessee, Lisa A. Cummings of Savannah, Tennessee and Teresa Nance and her husband Bobby of Florence, Alabama.5 grandchildren, Porsha Gary Hardin, Wesley A. Linville, Dustin Stricklin, Joshua Stricklin and Angel Nance all of Savannah, Tennesseeone great-grandchild, Joshua Paul Gary, Jr. of Savannah, Tennessee3 brothers, Floyd (Pod) Stricklin, Odell Stricklin and Reece Stricklin all of Savannah, Tennesseeone sister, Martha (Mary) Stanford of Sardis, TennesseeOther than his parents, Mr. Stricklin was also preceded in death by one son who died at birth and one sister, Margaret Stanfill.
