Jack Brassell, Jr:

Pinson, TN: Jack Dirrel Brassell, Jr. "Papaw", age 68, died Saturday, March 23, 2024 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, TN.

He was born in Triangle, Virginia on June 29, 1955, son of the late Jack Sr. and Marguerite Wainwright Brassell.  He grew up in Florida and Virginia and was a graduate of Washington and Lee High School in Montross, VA.

He met Susan Major in Baytown, Texas in 1981 and they later married on May 24, 1983. They moved to Jackson, TN and lived for about 20 years then moved to Pinson in 2017.

Jack was a hard worker and taught his children and grandchildren both to work hard and to be able to fix things on their own to take care of themselves. He was a Florida Seminole fan, but his greatest enjoyment was watching his children and grandchildren play sports.

He was very patriotic and a strong supporter of the 2nd Amendment. He loved shooting his guns and teaching his family to use guns and handle them properly.

He also enjoyed grilling and cooking out to feed the people he loved.

He is survived by his wife Susan Brassell of Pinson; two daughters Ashlei Brassell (fiancé Jeremy Ayers) and Jacklyn Sulock (Jimmy) both of Jackson; a son Joshua Evans of Darlington, SC; five grandchildren Raymond Lowery, Savannah Evans, Braxton and Nicholas Sulock and Kaylei Andrews; a brother Ferrel Brassell of Raleigh, NC; a sister Peggy Judd (Randy) of Dover, DE and her daughters Ami Judd and Kristy Harmon; and his mother-in-law Beverly Major of Pinson.

The family will hold a private memorial service. There will be no public services.
